I spent some time this weekend re-designing the Geekbench website. Not only does it look a lot better, it’s a lot easier to use, too. In the new design I’ve put prominent download, purchase, and support links in the sidebar; in the old design you had to hunt around the bottom of the page for the download and purchase links and there was support links at all.
Of course, if I’d been smart I would’ve done all of this before release. For some reason designing the page before release was really hard (and I struggled to come up with the original design), but after release re-designing the page was really easy. Less stress? Less pressure? Who knows.
I also updated the Geekbench Browser. Users can now enter their Geekbench serial number to access features that are available only to registered users. Right now the only features are ad-free browsing and a little icon that shows you’re a registered user, but I hope to add other features soon.
Oh, in case you’re curious, the icons I’ve added on both websites are from Dan Cederholm’s awesome IconShoppe. Highly recommended.
